Sierra Madre is a small but vibrant city in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley. Sierra Madre has the world's largest blossoming plant, a Wistaria that's called One of the Seven Horticultural Wonders of the World. The plant is over 100 years old, and the annual festival attracts thousands to see this, fragrant specimen displaying gorgeous shades of purple and lavender.


Memorial Park is a historic landmark park dedicated to Sierra Madre residents that served in the US Armed forces, and includes monuments, a band shell, playground and more. The park is a cornerstone of the city,  hosting public events throughout the year.


Sits on 2.3 beautiful acres, the cemetary was established in 1882 by Nathaniel Carter, the founder of the city and sits among coastal live oaks and Englemann oaks. Many of the original founding families of Sierra Madre are buried here, as well as the numerous veterans from the Civil War & Vietnam.



Nestled at the foot of the historic Mount Wilson Trail are Lizzie's Trail Inn, which began life as a lunch stand and Richardson House began as a small 2-room pioneer cabin. Both were built in the 1890s and today are museums open to the public.
