Pam Franklin participated in the 27th Annual “America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride – Lake Tahoe,” a charity cycling event for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS). The awe-inspiring ride was a 100-mile ring around Lake Tahoe, through California and Nevada, with spectacular scenery, clean mountain air, great food and more.
Pam trained several months for this event with an organization called Team in Training, a national fundraising arm of LLS. With her hard work and dedicated efforts, she was able to raise $5,130, nearly twice her stated goal. And, as a group, Team in Training raised over $4,000,000!
These donations will help fund treatments that save lives every day. These include immunotherapy, which uses a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. We are extremely proud of Pam for her tireless efforts in support of this life-saving work.
“Thanks to all the wonderful, generous Podley agents and staff who supported my effort!” – Pam
Coaching has always been something that Robb Buzzini has gravitated towards. He applies his great coaching skills to his business, coaching and guiding his clients through their real estate transactions.
Following high school, Robb served as an Assistant Coach for his high school in Santa Rosa. He also coached a basketball team for the Boys and Girls Club for ages 15-18. After moving to Pasadena in 2010, Robb served as Head Coach of the JV baseball team at St. John Bosco School in Bellflower.
This past year Robb has coached 4 youth teams that his children, Avery (8) & Jack (5) play on: 6U Soccer for AYSO Region 13, Kinder Co-Ed, first & second grade girls for Upward Basketball in Pasadena and Tee-Ball for Central Altadena Little League.
“I always look for ways our teams can be better” says Robb. “Whether that was strategy or simply knowing the rules, I wanted everyone on my team to be prepared.” Robb remembers what his Little League coach told him at 11 years old. That he was an extension of him on the field, earning him the nickname “Coach.” He was prouder of that than any on the field accomplishment. It is something Robb still applies to his life today.
For Robb, the thrill of helping a child get their first hit, make a basket, or score a goal matches the thrill of helping a first time home buyer or seller achieve their goals.

The PFAR® Charitable Foundation hosted their 27th annual Charity Wine Tasting and Auction in Altadena. This event is a wonderful opportunity for real estate professionals to come together in creating a better community. Proceeds from the event went to benefit local charities. We would like to thank all of the Realtors for supporting this event. And an extra special thank you is in order for PFAR Charitable Foundation Co-Chair Michele Giffin for helping to make the event such a success!

Podley associates Todd Hays, Margaret Garemore, Nick Frias, along with President Crystal Narramore, joined 2,000 Realtors® at the C.A.R.’s 46th Annual Leg Day in Sacramento. This year, agents were advocating for proactive solutions to the housing affordability crisis. After a meeting where Governor Jerry Brown spoke, the Realtors marched over to the State capitol. There, they met with elected officials, including Senator Anthony Portantino and Assemblyman Chris Holden.
Todd Hays currently serves as a Director for the C.A.R., and is a representative on the Local Government Forum and the Legislative Committee. This is his sixth time attending Legislative Day. “It’s truly one of the most fulfilling things I do as a Realtor,” Todd said. “It shows, in a most powerful way, the impact each of us can make at the state level.”
Crystal Narramore, Podley Properties President and C.A.R. director also attended Leg Day and is highly active in the real estate community, most recently as a featured panelist with WomenUP! at the recent REVive! conferece. “C.A.R. is a powerful voice in Sacramento due to the participation and involvement of Realtors across the State. Legislative Day has been an eye-opening experience for me to see the positive impact and influence C.A.R. has on the policies that affect our industry.”
Margaret Garemore attended Leg Day to help advocate for potential home-buyers and owners. “As the AAR 2018 President and a CAR Director, I was honored to be among so many Realtors who were willing to step up in the fight for home ownership and private property rights at Legislative Day at the state Capitol.”
This is the first year attending Leg Day for 2017 C.A.R. Rising Star, Nick Frias. “Attending the conference and marching to the Capitol was an eye-opening experience. It was exciting to see Realtors involved in the political aspect of the business and not just selling homes, and it helped me to more fully understand the importance and power that we have as agents.”
For the past 46 years, Legislative Day remains C.A.R.’s pinnacle legislative event. It gives California Realtors the opportunity to discuss real estate issues directly with their state legislators. Attending Legislative Day is not only a great investment an in agent’s business. It also provides the agents with an opportunity to hear from California’s political leaders and their state association’s leadership.
Diane Hatfield first joined the Pasadena Showcase House of the Arts (PSHA) benefit community in 2012 after visiting the Showcase House with family and friends as an annual tradition for many years, and volunteering as a docent in 2011. “I fell in love with the aspect of being involved from beginning to end. As a Realtor®, I felt this was a great way to network, give back to the community and support the various music programs that the philanthropy contributes to.” Diane served as the Tickets Co-chair for this year.
Jan Wiles volunteers with the PSHA’s Music Mobile program, just one of the many services the PSHA provides. She assists instructors from the Pasadena Conservatory of Music in introducing third grades to the sound of orchestra. The students also have the opportunity to touch and play those instruments..“It’s so rewarding to see the excitement on their faces when they make a sound on a tuba, or violin or drum. One little boy said to me after playing the violin, ‘Where would you get something like this?’ My heart melted!” Beyond the introductory information the students receive, the program serves to stimulate curiosity about music and encourage further exploration.
The Pasadena Showcase House of Design is one of the nation’s oldest premier design show houses, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, and is on view now through May 20th. Visit pasadenashowcasehouse.org to purchase tickets and for viewing instructions.

“I have been a resident of the beautiful Altadena for the past 20 years,” said Cynthia Tilleman, “and have served on the Altadena Land Use Committee to help to preserve our community. It was an honor to contribute my time to the new Triangle Park. Currently, I am a member of Altadena Heritage and previously served on several beautification groups.”
Altadena Triangle Park, formerly known as Memorial Park, has undergone major changes in the last year. After receiving Prop A funding, in addition to donations from the Altadena community, the park was restored, creating a new civic space with new pathways, water conservation elements, bus stops, planters, tables and seats celebrating the San Gabriel Mountains. The park’s official dedication took place last November.
After enjoying the new Triangle Park, make sure to check out Cynthia’s favorite local spots!

Several Podley Properties Associates from the Pasadena and Sierra Madre offices participated in the 3rd annual REALTORS® Read Across PASadena Day. Our agents worked alongside the Pasadena Unified School District and the Pasadena Educational Foundation in participating in this wonderful program. It takes place each year on Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The participating realtors picked the books to read to K-3rd graders at schools across the PUSD.
Each of our offices is working to raise $500.00. This money will be used to buy one book for each 2nd grader in the district. At the end of the school year, the books will be given out by the participating realtors. The program also provides books to the Door of Hope, a program serving homeless families in Pasadena. This drive supports the district-wide goal of every student being a fluent reader by the end of third grade.
Podley Properties is exceptionally proud to participate in Read Across PASadena Day, and to see the kids’ excitement about their new books. As Dr. Seuss’s character The Lorax says, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
This holiday season, our Pasadena office agents fulfilled the holiday wishes of 25 local children by sponsoring a Five Acres Wish Tree. These children living in foster care will definitely feel the extra love! Organized by Podley Properties agents Michael Robleto & Matt LeSueur, each card on the tree represented ‘gift wishes’ by a specific child. We are grateful of our agents for helping to spread holiday cheer throughout the community.
Five Acres is a non-profit based out of Altadena. Their mission is to promote loving and permanent family solutions to foster children. These three pillars; safety, well-being and permanency provide the framework for all of their current programs. They work to preserve successful childcare programs and develop innovative services for children and families in crisis. Five acres has served over 100,000 persons since its founding in 1888. They currently care for 8,700 children and families annually, across five counties!

Podley Properties Annual Pie Giveaway
Every year, Podley Properties agents are offered the opportunity to participate in an annual Thanksgiving Pie Giveaway. This event is a wonderful opportunity not only to connect with clients and the community, but to show their appreciation and give thanks to their clients for their business and referrals.
This year Podley agents from all six of our offices participated, gifting a record total of 1,333 pies to their clients.
