Historic Residential Properties: Marketing Advantages & Financial Incentives
“Teaching REALTORS® about the values and incentives associated with historic properties is exciting. There is so much misinformation out there. It’s a benefit to buyers and sellers when the right information gets out to everyone.” – Todd Hays, Podley Properties Realtor
This past Monday, more than 50 Realtors attended this half-day workshop in Palm Springs on historic residential properties. Guest speakers assisted Realtors, homeowners and preservationists by identifying financial, tax, and regulatory incentives.
These incentives can be used to offset rehabilitation & maintenance costs of historic homes – and are an effective marketing tool as well! Focused towards Realtors, case examples illustrated the incentives available at the state and local level, the associated eligibility requirements and how to gain access to financial incentives for historic preservation.
