Podley Properties Welcomes Stuart Brawley

Stuart Brawley - Main

From the moment Stuart Brawley purchased his first home in 2002, he knew he loved Real Estate. At the time, he was in the middle of a successful career as a music producer and songwriter. He remembers loving the whole process of home buying, from the search, to the negotiations, to the paperwork.

Buying and selling your home is a deeply personal experience. Having someone on your team that gets you and understands your vision makes the difference. Stuart makes sure his clients are educated in every step of the process. In addition, he loves helping families find their dream home as much as helping sellers take the next step in their lives when it’s time to move on.

Having lived 22 years in both LA and Atladena/Pasadena communities, Stuart knows the ins and outs of the community.

As a music producer, his primary job was bringing different skills, talents and ideas together to create a cohesive vision. Working with high demand clients like Michael Jackson, Don Henley, Barbra Streisand, Aerosmith, and Celine Dion gave Stuart the experience to work well under pressure, keep a project on track and deliver a great final product. He sees Real Estate through the same lens, and his mission for each transaction is to bring a team together with one goal in mind: a happy and successful escrow.

Stuart currently lives in Altadena with his partner and his daughter, who attends Pasadena Waldorf School. He remains passionate about music, building community, and volunteers regularly to work with students at his daughter’s school helping with concerts, events and outreach.

Podley Properties Agents Give Back by Reading Across PASadena

 Read Across PASadena - Main
March 2nd, 2018

Several Podley Properties Associates from the Pasadena and Sierra Madre offices participated in the 3rd annual REALTORS® Read Across PASadena Day. Our agents worked alongside the Pasadena Unified School District and the Pasadena Educational Foundation in participating in this wonderful program. It takes place each year on Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The participating realtors picked the books to read to K-3rd graders at schools across the PUSD.

Each of our offices is working to raise $500.00. This money will be used to buy one book for each 2nd grader in the district. At the end of the school year, the books will be given out by the participating realtors.
The program also provides books to the Door of Hope, a program serving homeless families in Pasadena. This drive supports the district-wide goal of every student being a fluent reader by the end of third grade.

Podley Properties is exceptionally proud to participate in Read Across PASadena Day, and to see the kids’ excitement about their new books. As Dr. Seuss’s character The Lorax says, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”

Homey Cottage in Bungalow Heaven Featured in CurbedLA

1058 E. Claremont - Curbed

1058 E. Claremont - Main

1058 E. Claremont Street, Pasadena // 1058Claremont.com

Here’s a cozy little home in Pasadena’s Bungalow Heaven neighborhood that packs a fair bit of charm into less than 900 square feet of living space.

Built in 1922, the home sits on a compact 2,993-square-foot lot. The front of the home has a garden and walkway leading to the circular front porch. Inside are two bedrooms and one-and-three-quarters bathrooms, along with an airy living room and dining area illuminated by wide windows and French doors.

Hardwood floors run throughout the home, and other features include built-in shelving and a gas fireplace in the living room. The recently updated tile-floored kitchen includes new appliances and a farmhouse sink.

Double doors in the bedroom lead out to a small back deck and wraparound patio space with an added storage shed. There’s also a small studio space behind the house that could be used as a particularly snug home office.

Asking price is $565,000.

Take a 3D Tour of Pasadena’s Tournament House

Tournament House Pasadena

About the Tournament House

This Italian Renaissance-style mansion was built in 1906 for the Stimson family in Pasadena’s “Millionaire’s Row”. The house was designed and built by architect G. Lawrence Stimson and his father, George W. Stimson. After most of the Stimson children left the nest, the house became too big for the Stimsons and they sold the house to William Wrigley Jr. in 1914.

The mansion was presented to the City of Pasadena in 1958 by the Wrigley family. They gave their home with the understanding that it would become the permanent headquarters for the Tournament of Roses®. That is why is is known today as the Tournament House.

The Tournament of Roses Association produces the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl game each New Year in Pasadena. The Rose Parade was conceived by the Valley Hunt Club in 1890. It served as a mid-winter festival where they would invite their neighbors who moved from the East Coast. Five years later, after the Rose Parade grew too large for the Valley Hunt Club, the Tournament of Roses Association was formed. Today, 935 Volunteers make up the Tournament of Roses, they are affectionately referred to as “White Suiters” because of the distinctive white uniform every volunteer wears.

Pasadena’s Historic Bungalow Heaven // Featured in CurbedLA

945 N. Holliston | Main

1913 Craftsman in Pasadena’s Bungalow Heaven Asks $949K

Pasadena’s historic Bungalow Heaven neighborhood is full of lovely Craftsman houses, but this one stands out.

This beautiful 1913 Craftsman was built and designed by the famed David M. Renton, best known for his works; Mt. Wilson Observatory 1904, Pasadena Craftsman-style homes 1902–1919. In addition, Renton was recruited in 1919 by William Wrigley Jr. to develop Catalina Island including the Casino Ballroom, hotels & several homes. He also worked as contractor for many well-known design firms, including Greene & Greene, who are best known for Pasadena’s Gamble House.

The home still holds a bevy of details that hint at the property’s old-time charm: hardwood oak. and maple floors, a living room fireplace, built-in shelves and cabinets, and crown moldings.

In addition to three bedrooms, the bright home holds a dining room and a dedicated laundry room. There is also a spacious front porch that curves around the front.

Measuring roughly 1,800 square feet, it sits on a 10,752-square-foot lot, leaving plenty of space for a grassy yard, an orange tree, and a detached garage.

The house, in the same family for 64 years, is  listed for $949,000.
